Kowa Sporting Optics
Germany
Приєднався 12 жов 2011
The Electronics and Optics division of KOWA began the production of spotting scopes in 1952. Originally, they were developed as scopes for examining targets in shooting matches and saw official use in 1964 Olympic Games held in Tokyo. Once discovered by birdwatchers, they gained unexpected popularity which gradually spread throughout the world of nature observations. Kowa Sporting Optics are highly appreciated as it is widely known that their quality and reliability are the result of more than half a century of experience and development.
The PROMINAR line which includes models utilizing pure Fluorite crystal to achieve optical characteristics unattainable with glass, is the gold standard of serious users.
Based on our experience that optics have to travel and endure all types of adverse environmental conditions, KOWA Sporting Optics are designed to be rugged yet lightweight, without comprimising optical performance.

blablablabla which one can see a 223 bullet hole @ 1k yds. ????????????????????????????????????????
Paul is right! This scope is simpy excellent. I have tested it as well and here is the video clip I made in Bulgaria. Who would have thought this image could be captured via a smartphone and 55mm scope? ;-) ua-cam.com/video/R127HsCQEcc/v-deo.htmlsi=QRNI_2rNLuZAM8ip
at 4:54 a correction, the lowest quality component in the system is the PHONE!!! as it has the smallest lens, usually plastic!!, and with such a small surface area, full auto mode, no control, so this is the weak link, better off adapting a telescope to a dslr or sensor, that at least gets the lens set to a high Quality point, not degrading the system.
Hello, does this work on the Kowa 602 ?? thanks
Hi - for the 602 you need the TSN-EX16S extender: www.kowaoptic.com/TSN-EX16S-1.6x-extender-for-TSN-660M-600-82SV-series/11648
@@kowasportingopticsthank you!
I’m a disabled veteran and I’m an Osprey nest monitor volunteer in Massachusetts. I’m also a wildlife photographer hobbyist. This looks like the exact tool I’ve been looking for!
I have the 88mm version and it's an amazing piece of craftsmanship! I never leave home without it!
I recently won a pair of 8x42 BD II's at a raffle and must say I'm stunned by them. I'm as picky as it gets with binos and already own a Zeiss Victory HT, Swarovski SLC HD, Swarovski SLC WB, and the new Swarovski NL Pure. I've also owned several others such as the Leica Ultravid HD+, Zeiss Victory FL, and Zeiss Victory SF. I almost passed on taking the little Kowa BDII's thinking they couldn't be anywhere near the others. I was seriously wrong on every count - the build quality in an out absolutely matches the big-name alpha bins. The focus knob is among the best I've bever used - perfectly damped and butter smooth. The view itself is every bit as sharp and chromatic aberration is totally non-existent except a tiny bit at the edge of the FOV which is hard to believe given the price point. About the only difference I can see is a bit more fall-off or astigmatism (still very, very acceptable considering there are no field flattening lenses in these) and slightly less glare resistance (minor nit-pick), than the flagship brands. Overall, the view very much reminds me of the Zeiss Victory FL or Leica Ultravid HD+ series - both legendary bins of traditional, non-flat field design. I've looked through an awful lot of optics over the years and it's arguable whether anything under the $1,000 mark could compete with these. I'm impressed enough that I put my other cork-sniffer bins in the safe as I'm content to carry these BDII's for the time being.
Thank you!
The extender ia actually a concave lens which increases focal length and if focal length is increased the magnification goes high
Is kowa 66 with TE11WZ II good enough for ASTRO viewing without zooming in?
The 66 with TE11WZ will give you 25x optical zoom which is a good magnification for moon viewing etc - the Fluorite crystal lens is superb for astronomy
May I know if 66 is good enough for star and moon gazing? What attachment can I get to make it better?
You can also use our astro adapters which converts the eyepiece mount to accept 1.25" astro eyepieces - meaning you can use your favorite astro eyepieces with the scope: ua-cam.com/video/ql4QzO-5Mjg/v-deo.html
What smartphone adapter are your using?
these are the Kowa RP adapters - dedicated fit with eyepiece ring: www.kowaoptic.com/Digiscoping/Smartphone-Digiscoping/Dedicated/
monocular?
It will work with a monocular - you need to measure the eyepiece cup size and see if we have a matching ring, visit our smartphone page and you can see what rings are available: www.kowaoptic.com/Digiscoping/Smartphone-Digiscoping/
@@kowasportingoptics thanks. Made in Austria not in China?
@@viktorbezvidkhodko2199 exactly - the SMARTOSCOPE is made in Austria!
I’m torn between the 88A and the 66A not sure what differences there are. Not been able to find somewhere to compare them. Is the FOV massively different ?
いつか家を借り換えたら、これらのいずれかを買う余裕ができるでしょう:)
I bought the Kowa BDII 10X42 XD from Cley Spy in the UK for £369. Personally, this is a lovely pair of binoculars - sharp, crisp image - and is equal in daylight optical performance to the Vortex Razor 10X42 HD, which was £630 more expensive and worse in low light. Whereas a streetlight still looked sharp via the Kowa, it caused a hazy glare via the Razor. I sent the Vortex back straight away; a clear lesson in 'expensive is not necessarily best'. I think the Kowa binoculars are very underrated and understated. I fully recommend them and my girlfriend has them in 8x42 for when we go birdwatching.
This item is impossible to find in the USA. I wonder why? I actually emailed Kowa USA about this and got no answer.
Hello and apologies for the late reply! The Smartoscope is only available in Europe but this dealer does offer international shipping: bit.ly/3KMcrwp
Does the new tsn-88 have the same problem of "sticky paint" that the older models have? Or does the new scope have a different external coating?
Smartoscope Vario adapter apparently is not available in the USA. Is there a reason? And is there an alternative that is just as good?
Ok, ask I must: is it "Kowa" as in "ow!" or "Kowa" as in "Oh!" The people who answer the phones in the US say "Kohwa."
01:29 why not include the model number of the adapter that is being used? Unclear witch model it is
Will you be bringing back the 77 series?
Will the 77 be coming back?
Come on Kowa we need some new videos .
I'm using a pixel 7pro. What are the best settings? I use the regular lens (of the 3), set to portrait mode, and zoom in. It works pretty well, but I feel it could be better. Any suggestions?
Outstanding optic. After researching and reading reviews , I took the chance. Can't go wrong here folks. Howa is one of the best kept secrets out there . 100% great glass.
Thanks Paul just purchased Scope wasn't convinced my I/phone could take pictures using scope --Since watching lecture I have made the right choice Cheers
Thank you what a perfect introduction to using a New Scope not knowing that I could use My i phone for taking Pictures Cheers Jeff will watch again Soon when I've tried to use phone myself Cheers
Can I use it with TSN-2?
Hello - please download our guide to Kowa system accessories and you can see all compatible scopes and accessories: www.kowaoptic.com/media/pdf/02/c6/30/Kowa-System-S-A4-English2FrlQv9GlLi64.pdf
I have TSN-2 with 25x eyepiece. Is there any option for digiscoping?
your best option would be to upgrade to the TSE-9ZB 20-60x zoom eyepiece - then you will be able to use our TSN-pA8 adapter - please download this guide to all accessories compatiable with your scope: www.kowaoptic.com/media/pdf/02/c6/30/Kowa-System-S-A4-English2FrlQv9GlLi64.pdf
Please tell me what's the background music of this video,I really liked it and want to know it, please reply
Do you have 1.25 inch astronomy eyepiece adapter to attach any astronomy eyepieces to kowa spotting scopes??
Please check this page for our accessories - you will find two astro adapters for 1.25" fitting scopes there is also a compatibility chart available from this page: www.kowaoptic.com/accessories/adapters-and-accessories/
I have a question, when you make a glass out of pure fluorite you do not apply any kind of coatings on it?? Only fluorite can completely eliminate chromatic abberation and colour fringing??
Hello - yes - there are very special coatings applied to a pure fluorite lens to bring out the very best performance - it's a a complicated process - please take a look at this page for detailed information: www.prominar.com/uk/ourstyle/
@@kowasportingoptics thanks! If I want to check one spotting scope like TSN PROMINAR 99 to see how is the clarity and colour rendition and how it performs at low-light conditions?? Can I get one for test?? Unless I know it's the best in the world then I can purchase it and recommend to all mu friends or those whom I know well.
Why was not chosen for Arca Swiss compatibility?
Can someone explain to me how the focal length equivalents are calculated at the beginning of the video? What is multiplied by what? And why does a Panasonic camera with a 20mm pancake lens get a lower zoom and focal length equivalent than the same camera without a pankace lens? Thank you.
Thanks for the detailed presentation and explanation. What kind of backpack is visible at 0:25?
I own a Kowa Genesis 8x33 and they are excellent optically to Swarovski , Leica and Zeiss. The image in my Kowa Genesis is bright and clear to the edges nice contrasts too. I also own a Swarovski Cl pocket 10x25 which is very nice optically too however the 8x33 Genesis and 10x33 Genesis binoculars are on par with the midsize Leica at half the cost and a bargain for the optics performance. These are very underrated even snubbed by higher end binocular snobs rating them not as good as the alphas until you look through one of these and you will see for yourself how good these really are.
I have one and use it with my Swarovski ATX scope. Unfortunately, it falls off very easily, even with the ATX/ATX ring. Rather frustrating.
Incredible ❤
got to get a kowa
Are there any plans from Kowa to produce binoculars with the same flourite lenses as in the scopes, to compete with the other top manufactures in the c£1,500 - £2,000 bracket? I'm sure they would be a huge seller.
Hello Olivia! Check out the Genesis range of binoculars - they are using our legendary fluorite rich XD lenses and are an absolute top performer and in the same league as the top models from other high end manufacturers :)
Kova , never heard of Kova , its Kowa .
I miss this with Aviemore . You used to be able to take the Venicular train up the mountain and walk around , searching for Dotterel and Ptarmigan , but they stopped the access . You now have to walk up to be able to do this . Having arthritis makes it a hard challenge . There are often Snowbunting , Wheatear and Ring Oozel nearer the lower section .
Its actually very similar to St Abbs Head here in Scotland , around half an hour North of Edinburgh. Well worth a visit early Summer . Razorbills , Guillimots , Shags , Cormorants , Kittiwakes , Puffins , Gannets diving off shore , Terns flying past as well as the odd Shearwater and Gulls and Fulmars .
Beautiful place . I live in Scotland , but i love Yorkshire and North Wales . This summer i was in Norfolk , which is also beautiful and the birding is incredible .
Sadly its the same here in the UK , mainly on shooting estates of Raptors . Common Buzzards , Red Kites , Eagles and Ospreys as well as some of the smaller Raptor species , through illegal poisoning and shooting . The penalties need to be harsher for anyone found killing endangered or protected species .
I would love to become a Kowa ambassador. Simply stunning optics . Ive been a birder for over 20 years and worked with the RSPB and SNH here in Scotland . Im also a member of the Wildfoul and Wetlands trust and the Scottish Ornithological Club . I do a lot of birding all over the UK . I recently purchased the BDII XD 8x42 model and am blown away with the quality of that glass .
I have a Sony rx10 iv, is it possible to digiscope on my kowa tsn 663m with it?
Hello! As your Sony RX10 IV is a bridge camera, it is unfortunately not possible to digiscope with it - it only works with cameras where you can remove the lens.
Can I use the big universal adapter with my Swarovski ATX ??? The one with the four clamps ??? I’m confused??
Hello! Yes, the universal adapter fits every phone, we have a kit that accommodates for the Swarovski ATX, it's the following: bit.ly/47HM3gS
Where could I buy one of the Kowa hats ? I've searched online but can't find anywhere selling them . I'm in the UK .
Thank you for this very nice video. It would be great if you could provide a video on the settings to use on one’s smart phone in order to achieve the best possible images/videos.
Thanks for the suggestion - we will work on it!
